"We're working on rolling our AI tools out everywhere and in all these languages", Zuckerberg said while responding to a post on Facebook.

Facebook admitted today that 65,009 Facebook users in Singapore may have had their information "improperly shared" with British political consultancy firm, Cambridge Analytica.

For its part, AggregateIQ says it "has never managed, nor did we ever have access to, any Facebook data or database allegedly obtained improperly by Cambridge Analytica".

She also hinted that since user data is the lifeblood of Facebook, users would have to pay for it if they do not want to be subjected to data-based advertising. Facebook shares are down over 10 percent since it first disclosed the leak. Cambridge Analytica's acquisition of Facebook data through the app developed by Dr. Aleksandr Kogan and his company Global Science Research Limited ("GSR") happened without our authorization and was an explicit violation of our Platform policies. CEO Mark Zuckerberg said in a call with reporters on Wednesday that it got to that number by looking at the maximum number of friends its users had at the time. Developers' ability to request data will also be curtailed as they will no longer be able to request data from users who have not used their app for three months.

Interestingly, after Facebook's announcement, Cambridge Analytica took to Twitter to state that it licensed data for 30 million individuals, and not the 87 million as Facebook claims. "Cambridge Analytica was supposed to be the arsenal of weapons to fight that culture war". "I think we understand that we need to take a broader view, we're not just building tools, but we need to take full responsibility for how people are using those tools as well". ↣ Apps won't have access to Facebook event participants and posts on the event's wall.

"I'd like to see transparency about which third-party organisations including advertisers have access to your profile data, your data points and the inferences drawn from those data points".

In addition, the 87 million users who might have had their data shared with Cambridge Analytica will get a more detailed message informing them of this.

Facebook also admits that it should not have given executives the delete feature before offering its to all Messenger users.
