Whistleblower Christopher Wylie at a press conference in central London
Wylie, who blew the lid off the alleged scam involving mining of Facebook user data to manipulate elections, made these revelations through a tweet and said that, "I've been getting a lot of requests from Indian journalists, so here are some of SCL's past projects in India".
Cambridge Analytica is at the centre of the Facebook data breach controversy where data of 50 million users in the USA was compromised to benefit Donald Trump's presidential election campaign in 2016. "And when we find them, we will ban them and tell everyone affected", the ads stated. "That was the basis the entire company was built on", he told the Observer.
Last week, BuzzFeed said, Allen told the news outlet that Wylie "has not worked for Republican clients since leaving [Cambridge Analytica]" and that Eunoia had "no data or assets".
"[It's] a wealthy company from a developed nation going into an economy or democracy that's still struggling to get on its feet on the ground and taking advantage of that to profit from it", he said.
However, the app not only collected personal information from the people who downloaded it, but also of unknowing friends.
The use of data to profile voters is not new, but what CambridgeAnalytica did with Facebook data is apparently unique.
Investigations were launched on both sides of the Atlantic. "If you chose to turn this feature on, we will begin to continuously log this information", the posting said.
CambridgeAnalytica (CA) whistleblower Christopher Wylie appears at a news conference in London, on March 26.
Following the release of this information, the ministry of electronics and information technology on Wednesday has issued an inquiry to Facebook, asking whether personal data of Indian citizens has been used by CambridgeAnalytica or any such entity.
The Trump campaign paid the firm $6 million during the 2016 election, although it has since distanced itself from Cambridge.
The move comes as the social media giant battles privacy concerns in the wake of the CambridgeAnalytica scandal. "Honestly we thought we were acting perfectly appropriately".
"Chris Wylie has misrepresented himself and the company to the committee, and previously to the news media", the statement read. Nothing good has come from CambridgeAnalytica.
When asked if he wanted to bring the companies he had worked for down, he replied: "Frankly, yes". Others raised questionsabout the role of CambridgeAnalytica in shaping the outcome of Kenya's disputed elections, in which Uhuru Kenyatta emerged victorious.
The ICO is also investigating CambridgeAnalytica's involvement in campaigning around the referendum on Britain's exit from the EU.
AggregateIQ reportedly received 40 percent of Vote Leave's entire budget. He said foreign employees were mindful of the applicable laws, but he added, "We might have been cavalier at times".
Why are people angry at Facebook?
. The stock losses have reportedly cost Facebook founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg about $7 billion (£5 billion) in just the first few days following the reports of the data breach.
To comply with this, Facebook is adding a section called "access your information, " a secure way for users to manage data they've shared with the company, including status updates, comments and things they have searched for.
Users get the option to allow data collection when they sign up for Messenger or Facebook Lite, the Facebook posting said.
Bolton, who was an early user of Cambridge's data, spent more than $1.1 million with the company through his super PAC.
It comes after Wylie's work was derided by United States political operatives who claimed that CambridgeAnalytica's "secret sauce" was nothing of the sort.
Reports of discontent among Facebook's ranks have emerged. For example, users will now be able to look up a post from a specific date in the past.
