Class XII Economics re-exam on April 25, no Maths re-exam for Mumbai students: Education Secretary Anil Swarup
According to the official notification on the CBSE's official website- cbse.nic.in the new dates for the exams will be announced within a week.
A reported leak of Class 10 mathematics and Class 12 economics exam papers has forced the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) to hold the exams once again, throwing millions of students into agony. In 2006, Business Studies question paper of CBSE Class 12 was reportedly leaked, in 2011 Class 12 Science paper was leaked and in the same year class 12th Math exam paper was also leaked. The students who appeared for the class 10 mathematics exam would also be taking a re-test.
"Obviously, they are disappointed and upset".
On March 15th, 2018, the Delhi Government had said that they have received complaints about the Class 12th CBSEAccountancy paper being leaked. Questions were leaked on social media channels, particularly WhatsApp. "We have also chose to tighten security for the time when papers are being distributed", Javadekar said in a press conference here. "A fair chance should be given to students of every region". In a complaint to Delhi Police, the CBSE said that it received a fax on March 23 naming a person who runs a coaching institute in Rajinder Nagar area of the national capital. Although lengthy, students found this paper easier than many. Fresh dates for the examinations are expected by next week. "It also becomes hard as a lot of them are travelling on holiday and gone to write admission tests".
Bhavika Yadav, a Class 10 student of St Thomas School, said, "We were shocked after hearing the news of the re-examination". The thought of preparing for, and re-writing the exams is an extremely stressful one.
Javadekar has declared that he will not allow "any injustice to students", though it may be rather late in the day for that. "It must have happened earlier as well...just that it was not caught", he said.
Some students have chose to stage a protest and demand that the re-examination decision be cancelled. Why should we suffer for what some students have done? "Post Vyapam and SSC, now three papers of CBSE have also been leaked and as per students, some more papers have also been leaked".
Evidently, a leak of this magnitude has brought officials from the Ministry of Human Resource Development and the CBSE to re-evaluate the current mechanism under which exams are conducted.
