Spring snow plays havoc with area events

North-east US battered by another snowstorm

This is why freezing, cold weather KEEPS coming back to hit Britain at the moment

"We have got higher confidence that temperatures will be below normal for Easter, with it being cold enough for snow to fall, however lower confidence in the exact details". Total snow accumulations of up to four inches - with localized amounts of up to eight inches along the Blue Ridge Mountains - are predicted, according to the advisory issued by the National Weather Service.

Most of the weekend looks quiet and cool with highs in the 40s. Highs in the low 50s with overnights warming back up into the low 40s. Saturday's highs will range from 40-45 and we'll still have to contend with a brisk northwest wind. Skies will be mostly to partly sunny.

"We'll see a mixture of sunshine and showers and there will be snowfall - particularly over northern hills".

It'll be another messy weekend folks with more rain and snow.

A attractive start to the day with temperatures in the lower 30s and nothing but sunshine! It will still be warm (lower to mid 80s) with a partly to mostly cloudy sky. Parts of central Virginia southwest of Richmond could see a light dusting on elevated surfaces, but accumulations are unlikely in the metro and points north and east. The mild airmass with deep moisture has been shunted to the south and east by yesterday afternoon's cold front replaced with a colder and drier airmass. Temperatures will be in the 70s by late next week!

Weather forecasters are predicting the latest winter story, which was expected to hit the area late Friday or early Saturday, could dump up to 4 inches of snow of even more by late Saturday. Temperatures will slowly start to warm up next week with highs in the 50s Tuesday and Wednesday then 60s THURSDAY! "So I think as far as seeing snow showers the next few hours is probably the best bet over the course of the next week". Wintry weather is not expected until well after Midnight.
