It may be her first time in a bathing suit for SI, but Stephens has already been their cover star after winning the US Open. Herrington's cover comes after other fashion and Hollywood royalty.

The black-and-white photo shoot, by Taylor Ballantyne, marks the "evolution" of the iconic Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue amid an ongoing push for women's equality, SI Swim Editor M.J. Day said in a statement to People and other publications. "That's what really made me pursue modeling", Herrington told Fox News.

"You know its a bit unusual for a dad to see his daughter half clad in a magazine", the text read.

"I do have to say I practiced a little bit on my bed, asking myself 'if I was on the sand right now how would I pose and what would I do, '" she said at the time.

In the clip, Banks channels her America's Next Top Model judge voice before surprising Herrington with her cover photo. Harrington is only the third African-American model to grace the issue's cover, while Banks is another. Both models were tearing up, especially Herrington who credited Tyra's SI covers as her inspiration to model.

Donning a chiffon skirt, Upton, who was then topless, fell, triggering a rush from members of the crew to save her. Before SI, she took her first walk down the catwalk in 2017 for designer Philipp Plein.

She also spoke about the importance of being "honest" regarding her experiences. Herrington is also part of Carine Roitfeld's CR Fashion Book and CR Girls 2018 Calendar.

A covetable opportunity, the Paralympian, who is set to compete in PyeongChang next month for the Paralympics, proved she won't let anything hold her back as she ditched her snow boots in favour of a tiny bikini.

The Compton native attended private school and told Fox News in an interview that her childhood was "pretty normal".

United States model Kate Upton went from poise to pratfall during a photoshoot with an unco-operative ocean. Now at 52, Porizkova said she often has nightmares about being on the cover and no longer looking young, a fear that she's now overcome thanks to the photoshoot.
