"I've never really found myself thinking about [the Olympics]", Gerard said past year, according to NBC. "I had to land this run so the pressure was at its maximum level but I think I dealt pretty well with it", Parrot told reporters.

"He went out and put it down flawlessly".

It turned out the men's slopestyle event was on a 30-minute tape-delay.

"Due to the strong wind and unfavorable forecast, the men's downhill is postponed to another date", the International Ski Federation announced.

Dutchman Sven Kramer roared to a third straight Olympic title in the men's 5,000m speed skating, and Germany's Arnd Peiffer upstaged French hope Martin Fourcade to win the men's 10km sprint biathlon.

Wearing the No. 6 bib, Gerard took some of the most unique lines and used the full width of the course to profile his versatility on the different features.

The teen Gold medal victor said later: 'It feels incredible.

Then, Gerard was asked how much fun his family was having.

Parrot wound up taking silver in the vent, while Mark McMorris, another Canadian, took bronze, Canada's first two medals of the event.

Fans quickly took to Twitter to praise Gerard, whose real name is Redmond Gerard, for his incredible feat.

Kramer has a chance at winning two more golds in other events: the 10,000 next Thursday and the team pursuit. In ice dance, 2010 Olympic champions Tessa Virtue and Scott Moir dazzled with their intricate footwork and exquisite twizzles - with sparkly black and gold outfits to match.

"It was awesome", he said of his winning run.

The top-ranked Fourcade missed three of five shots from the prone position, forcing him to do three penalty laps.

In figure skating, ice dancers Tessa Virtue and Scott Moir, women's singles skater Kaetlyn Osmond and pairs stars Meagan Duhamel and Eric Radford made sure made sure Canada kept a solid grip of first place in the team event.

The actual country was banned from participating from this year's games. The legendary 37-year-old Norwegian Marit Bjoergen was second, 7.8 seconds back, and Krista Parmakoski of Finland was third.

In luge, Edney used a fast second run to move into fifth.

The first Okanagan athletes to compete at the PyeongChang 2018 Olympic Winter Games took to the slopes Saturday evening local time.
