Apple says it sees 'strong demand' for replacement iPhone batteries

iPhone X users are reporting that they can no longer accept calls
Apple is considering offering a partial refund to customers who paid full price to replace their ageing iPhonebatteries.
Apple Inc. responding to U.S. Senate questions about its decision to slow performance on older iPhones, said it is considering rebates for battery replacements for some users affected by the issue.
In December, Apple announced it will make all battery replacements $29 - $50 less than the original out-of-warranty cost - until the end of this year. The company presently has an average rating of "Buy" and a consensus price target of $201.91.
Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) last issued its quarterly earnings data on Thursday, February 1st.
The company gave more insight on the new battery options in the letter.
Apple said that with time, iPhone batteries become weak, hence, it slows down the CPU speed in order to elongate the battery life. If your iPhone is in good condition, the Battery Health will say your device has maximum capacity (100%).
After a user updates to iOS 11.3, Apple said it will initially have performance management disabled, and it will reenable if the iPhone experiences an unexpected shutdown.
While Apple'siPhone X made waves during its launch previous year due to the innovative FaceID technology, it was also the company's first foray into offering a phone with an OLED screen.
The problem hasn't been resolved in the latest iOS 11.2.5 software update, and based on user accounts it seems that the problem can be traced back to all versions from iOS 11.2 onwards. This comes after Applehad admitted to managing the performance of its older iPhones to prevent sudden shutdowns. An Apple Authorized Service Provider can service the battery. However, if you have not yet received an email, the company on its official blog asked its customer to get in touch with them. This means there's no throttling and there won't be performance caps on your iPhone.
If you don't want Apple to apply "performance management", simply click on the disable icon next to it.
