The Eagle Way is similar to the Patriot Way: No egos

Philadelphia has the ball at New England's 29-yard line, 1:56 away from the franchise's first Super Bowl title.

In the wildest shootout in Super Bowl history, unheralded Nick Foles outdueled legendary Tom Brady to lead the Philadelphia Eagles to a Super Bowl title, defeating the New England Patriots, 41-33.

Jake Elliott nailed a 48-yard field goal with 1:05 remaining to give the Eagles an eight-point edge.

The five-time Super Bowl victor did not throw his first touchdown pass till the third-quarter, but he continued to drive his team down the field, allowing the Patriots to stay ominously close.

"I told y'all", Jeffery said.

"Yeah, that was something we've been working on, and Doug and I were talking, and he was like, 'Let's just run it.' It was a good time", Foles said. "We'll sit down in the next couple of weeks and see where I'm at". We knew we were going against the best.

Several social media users revived the quote after Brady was unable to catch the ball after being targeted by receiver Danny Amendola on a trick play today that likely would have ended in a touchdown.

The Eagles have made it to their third Super Bowl despite losing number one quarterback Carson Wentz to a knee injury in Week 14 after leading his team to a 10-2 record.

Philadelphia Eagles' Corey Clement celebrates scoring a touchdown with Jay Ajayi.

Foles threw an 11-yard touchdown pass to Zach Ertz late in the fourth quarter, with the tight end beating Devin McCourty on a quick-in route and holding the ball in front of him as he drove for the goal line.

Though there have been reports of alleged friction this season between Belichick, Brady and team owner Robert Kraft, it's clear they are on the same page when it comes to the pursuit of championships.

The combined 1,151 yards were the most in any modern National Football League game. But Brady couldn't quite make the catch.

"We put the best players out there and the game plan out there because we thought it'd be the best to win".

The Eagles come into the biggest game in gridiron with backup quarterback Nick Foles under centre - who threw all over the Minnesota Vikings to ruin their chances of a home Super Bowl in Minneapolis. Proving that he is still one of the top quarterbacks in the NFL, Brady was named the AP MVP for being the ultimate team player.

Brady and the Patriots looked more like five-time champions by opening the second half with a 75-yard touchdown drive.

'My husband can not f****** throw the ball and catch the ball at the same time, ' she had said after the game.

Trailing for the first time in the game, 33-32 with 9:26, Foles led the Philly offense on a legendary game-winning drive. But a botched snap-and-hold meant Stephen Gostkowski had to rush his attempted field goal, which came back off the left-hand post.

You don't defeat the New England Patriots playing safe. Eagles lead Patriots 3-0 in the first quarter.

There were other reasons Philadelphia won, of course: missed Patriots tackles, miscommunication between Brady and his receivers and a Brady fumble near the end of the game. The Eagles scored a touchdown with one minute and 55 seconds left to cut the lead to three, but they failed to recover the ensuing onside kick.
