The sheriff's office listed the names of the missing, who range in age from two to 62, in a statement on Friday night. He brings the total of missing to seven. Montecito, Calif., was placed under mandatory evacuation orders Thursday, forcing approximately 10,000 residents out of their homes for between one and two weeks, ABC News reports.

As rescue operations continue, Santa Barbara County Sheriff Bill Brown has warned that emergency workers are now looking for "miracle survivors".

She said: "It's not just a wealthy community, it's filled with a lot of different types of people from all backgrounds".

"He is in an out-of-area hospital being treated".

"I flew over the area this morning, and there's about three-quarters to a mile of water", said Capt. Cindy Pontes, of the California Highway Patrol. No further details were released about his death.

Sutthithepa, who went by the nickname Pasta, enjoyed trains, family friend Kevin Touly told the Times.

"Two cars were missing from his driveway and he watched two others slowly move sideways down the middle of the street 'in a river of mud'".

The mudslide swept through the coastal community of Montecito on Tuesday morning (local time), catching numerous victims entirely off-guard.

"My sister was such a good person, she only thought of others to the point that she would cry with you when you were hurt or sick", said Ramos' sister, Jennifer Ramos, pausing to sob for several seconds.

Heavy rain and a "deep rumbling" sound preceded the massive amounts of mud that blanketed miles and killed at least 17 people.

"The mud and debris flow has completely isolated places like Santa Barbara", Jonathan Bastian of member station KCRW told NPR's Scott Simon. Most of those fire responders were sent home December 23.

All of those killed died of "multiple traumatic injuries due to flash flood with mudslides", according to the Santa Barbara County Coroner's Office.

People in Montecito had counted themselves lucky last month after the biggest wildfire in California history spared the town.

The geological survey said many deaths from debris flows occur when people are asleep, just as happened in Montecito, where heavy rain fell in a short period of time a few hours after midnight.

Peerawat Sutthithepa, 6, who was called Pasta, loved trains, the Los Angeles Times reported, citing family friend Kevin Touly.

The number of confirmed fatalities remains at 17.

The youngest, 3-year-old Kailly Benitez, was one of four children killed. Stranded drivers caught up in the rising water levels were being plucked from their vehicles to safer, dryer ground by emergency personnel relying on mostly aviation transportation. "It just exhausts the crews out there", Sacramento Fire Department Captain Pat Costamagna said.
