Nate bringing rain to Philly region

09 Octubre 2017, 04:23 | Crisanna Felipe

Rain will put damper on Mass. holiday activities

Leftovers From Hurricane Nate on the Way

Rain will taper off towards midnight with clearing skies and falling humidity on Tuesday.

The remnants of the storm named Nate will bring rain to the Philadelphia area today.

With a very fast forward speed, New England could see impacts from Nate as early as Monday! The remnant low pressure that was once Nate will quickly lift northeast through western Pennsylvania and upstate NY today, and that track will keep the heaviest rain totals focused well to our north and west.

Isolated amounts of up to 2 inches are possible but not likely, according to the outlook. By dinner time, more rain will move into the Valley.

There will be another chance for showers Thursday.

The First Alert Severe Weather Day will be continuing into this evening as heavy showers continue to bring a flooding threat across Kentucky.

The mugginess should continue overnight with a low of 65 degrees.

It will also be unseasonably warm and humid with a high of 81 predicted for the afternoon. High pressure will build in for Tuesday and deliver enough dry air to allow breaks of sun to develop Tuesday with a fresh northwesterly breeze. "It is going to be, but not the heavy rain we were expecting". Minor coastal flooding is possible during high tide Monday morning. That might sound cool, but with dew points in the mid 60s signaling some surface moisture, things may feel a bit sticky.

The chance of rain will remain low throughout the week until Saturday, when it increases again to 40 percent. Highs Thursday will struggle to get out of the 50s.
