At least 59 killed in Las Vegas shooting

GETTYLas Vegas shooting 50 people were killed in the attack
In a bold gesture of defiance, a concertgoer flipped the bird at gunman Stephen Craig Paddock as he opened fire on a Las Vegas crowd. His relentless gunfire - police say he fired for nine minutes after the first 911 call - on country music fans at an outdoor concert left 59 people dead.
Besides the 10 guns found in the hotel room, police discovered 18 firearms, explosives and thousands of rounds of ammunition at the residence in Mesquite, a town 128 km north of Las Vegas. "You're supposed to feel safe with the police around". "I need patience. This is an investigation [that] is far from being concluded..." My thoughts and prayers go out to everyone involved tonight.
Retired FBI profiler Jim Clemente speculated that "some sort of major trigger in his life" preceded the mass shooting. Soon, the footage went dark as an officer shielded a woman, authorities said.
Marilou Danley said that she was worried her boyfriend, Stephen Paddock, was trying to break up with her when he bought her a cheap ticket to the Philippines about two weeks ago, then wired her money so she could buy her and her family a house there.
Paddock was found dead, apparently of a self-inflicted gunshot wound, when a police SWAT team burst into his room in the Mandalay Bay Hotel, one of Las Vegas's most recognizable landmarks.
All the victims have been preliminarily identified, Clark County Coroner John Fudenberg said. They wonder if he had some sort of mental break at the time that drove him to start making plans for mass murder. The photos show semiautomatic assault-style rifles on the floor and on furniture.
High up on the hotel's residential floors, a first responder radioed in: "I'm inside the Mandalay Bay on the 31st floor, I can hear automatic fire coming from one floor ahead. one floor above us".
The former accountant would've had a clear view of the Route 91 Harvest Festival, a 3-day country music event taking place in an open-air, ground-level venue across the Strip, some 400 yards away from his hotel.
A U.S. official said authorities are looking into the possibility that Paddock was planning additional attacks, including a car bombing.
"We still consider her a person of interest".
- Chris Michel, owner of Dixie GunWorx, in St. George, Utah, recalled selling Paddock a shotgun earlier this year, CNN affiliate KTVX reported. He escaped prison in 1968, landing on the FBI's "10 most wanted" list, which described him as "extremely dangerous" and "psychopathic".
Eventually, they found a second hotel and got a room for the night. He said that there are uniformed security guards checking room keys prior to allowing guests to access the hotel's elevators.
- Sandra Casey, a special education teacher in Manhattan Beach, California, was killed, the Manhattan Beach Unified School District said.
"It takes the worst of America to also see the best of America".
The massacre has no known link to overseas terrorism or terror groups, a US official with knowledge of the case said.
Police confirmed they have still not uncovered a motive for the deadly shooting and said Paddock led a "secret life", making it hard for investigators to uncover details of his personal relationships.
"He sends me a text that says he won $250,000 at the casino", Eric Paddock said. "It's a lot of police everywhere. Time to come together and stop the hate", he said.
The photos show guns in chairs' spent ammunition littering the floor and a weapon with a bipod. "I mean, it was him who did this?"
