While handing out supplies, Trump started playfully tossing rolls of paper towels like he was manning the tee shirt gun at halftime of the disaster. He stayed mostly in Guaybana, a wealthy suburb of San Juan that's much, much farther along recovery-wise than other parts of the island.

"Does he think this is a show?" He said Trump wants people to know, "We will be with you every day until the Virgin Islands comes all the way back".

The president was also greeted by pre-selected families as he met them in front of their homes on the island. "That's you", she said.

The page includes statistics on the percentage of hospitals that have been reopened, the miles of road that have been cleared, the thousands of federal workers engaged in the response, and the millions of meals that have been distributed. Yet by Tuesday, power had been restored to less than 7% of Puerto Rico.

On CNN, Cruz said she told Trump, "This is about saving lives; it's not about politics".

"This is a life or death story".

"I feel like in times of devastation, the bar is very low for what a president needs to do", said Sara Haines. "What needs to be done is freight movement on the island itself".

Her comments referred to remarks Trump made during a meeting with local and federal officials Tuesday, when he claimed Puerto Rico had thrown the US budget "out of whack" and compared the devastation caused by Hurricane Maria to Hurricane Katrina, which he called "a real catastrophe".

Known deaths from Maria in the United States territory stand at 34.

Around 3.4 million people live on the USA territory which was already in recession before the hurricane hit the island. "Claiming the response was fine and dandy when most of the island was (and is) without power and water?"

San Juan Mayor Carmen Yulín Cruz wore a "Nasty" T-shirt on national television Wednesday afternoon, making her claim that the nation's insistence on disaster relief efforts are "not about politics" all the more hard to believe.

"It's been unbelievable what's been done in a very short period of time on Puerto Rico", the president said in the Oval Office Monday.

TONIGHT: Stephen's reviewing the footage from Trump's visit to Puerto Rico, and it's more "disaster" than "relief".

"They owe a lot of money to your friends on Wall Street and we're going to have to wipe that out", Trump told Geraldo Rivera of Fox News.
