Ana De Armas and Ryan Gosling in Blade Runner 2019
While his attention is primarily on milking the Alien franchise for all it's worth with a series of lackluster prequels, Ridley Scott is also eagerly invested in squeezing more money out of his other dystopian science fiction universe, even if the directorial responsibilities have gone to someone younger and arguably more capable.
"The hero becomes the villain, the villain becomes the hero". Make of that what you will.
"It's a feeling of being doomed, you know", he recalls. It's heavy stuff for a 12-year-old. Check out the Honest Trailer for Ridley Scott'sBlade Runner.
And now, with the release of Blade Runner 2049, the question of Deckard's status as human or Replicant is coming up once again. He said "I'm kinda busy now".
Blade Runner 2049 review by Paul Heath, October 2017. Shrouded in secrecy, the new film opens tomorrow, 35 years after the original. From Hampton Fancher and Michaeld Green's thought-provoking script and Dennis Gassner's ingenious production design to the exceptional acting from the lead and supporting players alike, this long-awaited follow-up fires on all cylinders and definitely lives up to expectations. Adding the necessary polish are the Oscar-worthy tones of cinematographer Roger Deakins, and a fittingly retro-meets-new mix of sounds from Benjamin Wallfisch and Hans Zimmer.
Villeneuve recalls being in awe of the directing, characters and themes. "His performance is by far one of the most moving performances I have witnessed as a director and I am very proud of what he did". There's more - I love mysteries.
Scott created, as he did with 1979's Alien, a landscape "that has always enticed people and been seen as a work of art", says Jeff Bock, senior box-office analyst for Exhibitor Relations, who believes Blade Runner has the same foothold in sci-fi lore as 2001: A Space Odyssey and Star Wars.
Robin Wright plays K's boss at the LA police department Lieutenant Joshi
Overall, I give Blade Runner 2049 3.25 out of 4 stars.
Gosling, 36, took it on the chin: "It's Ryan, yeah". It's not that Gosling isn't handsome or relatable but K's philosophical quandaries never cut as close to the bone as the those on, say, "Westworld". Ford has a reputation for not suffering fools gladly. Couple that with a pretty long runtime (even by modern tentpole standards) and Blade Runner 2049 seems destined to divide people in the way that its predecessor has for decades: between those who find it an excellent sci-fi mood piece and those who agree that it's lovely to look at, but a bit pretentious and overly drawn out.
After all, it's hard to ever be sure what you're going to get from Harrison.
Gosling needn't have anxious.
During the movie's filming and promotion, Ford has made a sport of using Gosling as a comedy punching bag.
"He's also extremely focused and serious - he strikes the ideal balance". Blade Runner 2049 tells an entire visual storyline that's full of subtlety and subtext, easily requiring multiple viewings in order to pick out the details in every carefully constructed and executed shot.
"That's the face of 'oh shit, I'm in deep doo-doo, '" Ford said.
Bills upset Falcons in huge road win
That said, the Falcons now have two week to think about this tough loss against a team they should've beaten. It was definitely just a time to just say, 'Hey, guys, we've done this before.
Denver Broncos vs Oakland Raiders
Denver got a 28-yard field goal from McManus after a first-quarter drive stalled at the Oakland 10 on a third-down incompletion. Last Sunday against the Raider defense quarterback Kirk Cousins (over 300 yards passing, with 3 touchdowns) looked like a star.
Kansas City vs. Washington on Monday Night Football
Meanwhile, Kansas City opened its season with a road win in New England and followed with victories over the Eagles and Chargers. THE HUNT CONTINUES: Chiefs running back Kareem Hunt continued his strong rookie campaign, rushing for 101 yards on 21 attempts.
