No 'Panic' From Witten And 1-1 Cowboys

Dallas Cowboys vs Arizona Cardinals odds: NFL Week 3 schedule, prediction, line, spread and preview

Last season the Arizona Cardinals and Dallas Cowboys were NFC teams on a see-saw. So far this season both teams are 1-1 in record, but the Cardinals are 0-2 against the spread, as they were favored by 7 in a six-point win against lowly Indianapolis.

Everything that could go wrong for Dallas did in Week 2.

In a loss to the Denver Broncos, Elliott racked up just eight yards on the ground on nine carries. When combined with projections from the preseason, Dallas ranks high, No. 8 to be exact.

This time around, it was the Broncos Super Bowl-caliber defense that disgruntled and dismantled the Cowboys.

That Peterson will play press much of the time is no secret, but Peterson sketches out a plan of when the jam will come quick, when it is faked, when he'll play the receiver normal. Set to turn 38 years old later this season, the quarterback might be in the twilight of his career.

Jason Garrett and the Dallas Cowboys are looking for a bounce back game. The Cowboys will be in search of their first win over the Cardinals since 2006 on the road this Monday night. Between the bad loss, lingering drama with Ezekiel Elliott's suspension and now the questioning of Zeke's efforts after not even trying to tackle the opposing player after an interception, the Cowboys need a statement win to get back on track.

If the passing game can at least force the second level of Arizona's defense to be on their heels, I foresee an EXPLOSION from the rushing attack.

It was just two weeks ago that Elliott ran for over 100 yards against a terrific Giants defense. This week, they just have to wait an extra day. The Broncos have been one of the NFL's best defenses for years now, but even the best defenses have not been able to shut down this Dallas offense the way the Broncos did last Sunday.

The sky isn't falling in Dallas. Carson Palmer is tied for most interceptions in the season. He rushed for 44 yards.

The evidence was as clear and evident as that ubiquitous star logo on the Cowboys' helmets: Elliott quit.

Offensive lineman Dan Skipper, who was signed as a rookie free agent out of Arkansas in the spring, was let go from the practice squad during final cuts. A week after the Atlanta Falcons barely survived in Chicago, they were dominant at home against the Green Bay Packers. So, the question remains, how will they bounce back from the 42-17 defeat?

Dallas outfit played with Cardinals two times when both of these players were on their teams.

In future games, the Cowboys' wide receivers will have less competition, and Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott should be able to move the ball downfield more quickly and easily.

PREDICTION: Turnovers figure to be the decisive factor in this game, and the Cowboys have been better in that department (Palmer has thrown four picks for Arizona). As always, I'll be riding along with you hosting the Get More Sports Live Blog here at the site.
