Mane may return early as Liverpool appeal 3-match ban

Man City's Ederson could return just days after Mane collision
City, who led 1-0 when Mane was sent off, went on to win 5-0.
Liverpool have launched an appeal over Sadio Mane's three-match ban and will argue the punishment for his red card at Manchester City is excessive. But the controversy does not come because of the weight of the decision to give Mane his marching orders only. But the reality is he was late.
The 24-year-old winger's influence was also clearly noticeable after Liverpool's collapse in their 5-0 defeat to City following Mane's sending off in the first-half. Liverpool's best player was sent off for catching Ederson with a recklessly raised boot as he ran through on goal.
The Liverpoolforward posted a public apology for his challenge on Ederson, who luckily isn't badly hurt. "I am confident the players in my squad are very brave and honest, with lots of character and personality". No penalty, no card issued.
"It's going to be tough to stay standing against this club (Manchester City)", Berghuis told daily tabloid De Telegraaf.
Mané, who was visibly distraught as he was being ordered from the field of play, has since apologised for his challenge on the Brazilian youth international.
He will be eligible for selection against Sevilla tomorrow night though, as well as Spartak Moscow on September 26, three days after his domestic suspension ends anyway.
"For me, the most important thing is this is a proper Champions Leaguegame and nothing else, not Europa League, not a final from two years ago, it is real Champions League". We cannot change this. Us goalkeepers know this can happen, but you never expect it. He will be more beautiful after that news! "He's always in the right place at the right time".
Asked if Toure will return to the side in the near future, Guardiola added: "Hopefully". The Argentine striker's 124th Premier League goal since joining City from Atletico Madrid in 2011 made him the highest scoring non-European player in the competition's history.
