Matt Reeves Clears The Air, Confirms 'The Batman' Is In The DCEU

Will'Justice League mark the end of the DCEU
While most of the recent DC Comics film adaptations have been interconnected, forming the basis of the DC Cinematic Universe, Matt Reevessays his film won't be a part of that project. "Batman will be BATMAN..."
Back in the world of Batman, however, Matt Reeves also had a few other thoughts to share on KCRW. While the continued rumors about Affleck's involvement cast doubt on the actor's future with the DCEU, it appears that at least one rumor can be laid to rest.
So, part of the DC extended universe.but not in service of that universe. ".not about the others in the Universe".
During the misunderstanding, there was much speculation that the film existing outside of the DCEU would allow Ben Affleck to make a graceful exit from the role. Did Matt Reeves mean The Batman is a completely new Batman, just with Affleck in the role? We're going to remain in that holding pattern until the news becomes officially official. But he's not going to do that movie, I don't think. I am still in this, and we are making it, but we are now looking for a director.
Or maybe this is what it sounds like: The Batman is really in a totally separate continuity.
What we, and everyone else, took this to mean was simple: The Batman would not be a part of the DC extended universe. Reeves spoke about his position on making the movie, and had an interesting comment about how it was pitched to him by Warner Bros. Most recently Suicide Squad 2 (which is presently searching for a director) but also Justice League Dark and Batgirl, whose start date depends on director Joss Whedon's turnaround from reshoots on Justice League. But it could be that Warner and Reeves are hoping to return to the one-chapter format with The Batman, instead of using it as a jumping off point for never-ending sequels.
Though Reeves' Batman film will be a piece of the big puzzle, the director promises his film will tell an intimate, character driven story for the caped crusade.
Matt Reeves has confirmed that Batman will remain part of the DC extended universe.
So it's very hard to know what to believe.
With all the worries put away, hopefully this means Ben Affleck can stay portraying Batman. Let us know by sounding off in the comments section down below.
