Taylor Swift Drops New Single, Divides Twitter and 'Breaks the Internet'

Maybe Tyrion should have advised Daenarys to send her dragons after the hackers who have been leaking details about the Game of Thrones Season 7 finale

After almost three years since the release of her last studio album, 1989, the pop star is finally dropping the lead single off her new album, Reputation.

The musician confirms a new album is coming, after almost a week of cryptic, teasing posts on social media. She was protesting the company's return to artists, specifically its payment of $0.0012 per track for songs streamed on Spotify's ad-sponsored free tier.

Superfans have called "Look What You Made Me Do" "savage" and "grownup", while others have deemed it faux edgy and yet another play of the victim card.

The track marks the singer's first release since she shared 'I Don't Wanna Live Forever', a collaboration with Zayn Malik that featured on the Fifty Shades Darker soundtrack.

Images include a auto crash, a snake (which helps to explain her slithering social media postings), and Swift chomping down on some bling.

"Reputation", Swift's sixth studio album, will be available on November 10. Swift says. "Oh, cause she's dead".

The song addresses those Swift feels have wronged her in the past - saying their names are part of a long list - and basically says she's changed in no uncertain terms.

Last year, she suffered an unusual backlash, as her ex-boyfriend, musician Calvin Harris, accused her of trying to "bury" him when she spilled that she wrote his hit song, This Is What You Came For.

Kardashian West also associated the snake emoji with Swift, and fans of the Wests flooded the pop star's social media accounts with the emoji.

American musician Jack Antonoff worked on Look What You Made Me Do with Swift. However, as years passed, Taylor became more edgy and spunky, which has clearly influenced her music as well.
