On Friday, the Australian comedian and playwright debuted his latest track - a reworking of Peter Allen's classic track "I Still Call Australia Home" taking aim at the country's same-sex marriage laws and urging everyone to vote in the postal poll.
And, if as expected, there is a yes result to this plebiscite, keep a close eye on your local member to see which way they cast their vote.
Canberra's governing Liberal-National Coalition failed to pass a bill in Parliament that would have secured funding to restore Australia's compulsory plebiscite on November 25, which means the same-sex marriage vote will instead likely take shape as a voluntary voting effort.
Voting in the plebiscite will be voluntary - unlike in elections in Australia, which are compulsory - and happen through the post.
The senate rejected the plebiscite idea for a second time on Wednesday, and same-sex marriage advocates are launching a legal challenge against the $122 million postal vote plan.
Court's comments come after she was widely condemned when she boycotted Qantas earlier this year over its support of marriage equality.
"Western Australian Liberal Senator Dean Smith said ahead of yesterday's party room meeting: "(A postal vote) is a D-grade response to what is a defining A-grade social issue". "What I think will be no more important in this debate than the views of 16 million other Australians".
"Why are we stopping people from loving each other?" asked prominent TV host Karl Stefanovic on the Nine network.
She feared those angrily against marriage equality may outnumber gay people who are passionate for change.
Polls have found majority support for same-sex marriage, and the opposition Labor Party have used Turnbull's trouble legalizing it to attack him.
Since the Liberal party confirmed its intention to hold a plebiscite on Monday, 53,000 people have contacted the AEC to update their address. If you have friends overseas, point them in the direction of this section of the AEC site to ensure they are able to vote.
Politicians have now agreed to a postal vote on the issue, with the results revealed later this year.
Labor Senator Penny Wong made an impassioned speech in Parliament, accusing the government of "handball (ing) a hard decision to the community" and failing to defend the LGBTI community against hate speech: "Let me say, for many children in same-sex couple parented families and for many young LGBTI kids, this isn't a respectful debate".
More so because Tony Abbott, who led the charge to defeat the republic in 1999, was taking a leadership role again in a campaign on an issue about which he felt strongly and that also gave him a chance to do combat with Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull, who backs a Yes vote.
