Warning to believers in the rule of law: There is now a clear and present danger that President Trump is on the brink, possibly within days, of precipitating a constitutional crisis and triggering a national firestorm against his presidency by firing and removing multiple officials involved in the Russian Federation investigation.

And then finally, he tweeted, I'm being investigated for firing the Federal Bureau of Investigation director by the man who told me to fire the Federal Bureau of Investigation director.

Former independent counsel Ken Starr called the prospect of firing Justice Department special counsel Robert Mueller an "insult to the Founding Fathers" in a Washington Post op-ed published Thursday night.

Rosenstein has ultimate authority over the Russian Federation probe, after he took over for Attorney General Jeff Sessions who previously recused himself from the investigation.

Rosenstein's unusual statement, which he issued over the objections of some advisers, said in part: "Americans should exercise caution before accepting as true any stories attributed to anonymous 'officials'".

Rosenstein released a cryptic statement the evening before about the danger of relying on anonymous sources, though it appeared to be aimed more at a report that the business interests of Trump's son-in-law and senior adviser Jared Kushner were now of interest to Mueller. "The Department of Justice has a long-established policy to neither confirm nor deny such allegations".

Jamie Gorelick, Kushner's attorney, told the Post that they did not know what the latest report refers to.

President Donald Trump speaks in the Roosevelt Room of the White House in Washington, Thursday, June 15, 2017, during an event on Apprenticeship and Workforce of Tomorrow initiatives.

President Donald Trump acknowledged on Friday that he is personally under investigation as part of a widening probe into alleged Russian meddling in last year's United States presidential race and possible collusion by his campaign, an inquiry that has cast a shadow over his five months in office.

Law enforcement sources tell CNN that the special counsel is gathering information and considering whether there is evidence to launch a full-scale obstruction investigation.

KEITH: And that might explain why Rosenstein is now apparently the target of Trump's ire.

The focus on Rosenstein sharpened Friday because the President attacked the deputy attorney general in a tweet, blaming him for what he terms a "witch hunt". Although that's not the rationale that Trump himself said actually explained the firing.

Dr. Ben Carson, Secretary, U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development joined Pete Hegseth on Kilmeade & Friends to discuss the political divide in America and why those who are angry about President Trump's election need to understand we have elections every 4 years and if they want change they need to work within the political process instead of lashing out in hatred.

I vehemently and unequivocally disagree with Turley about this and would flatly assert that most of the respected legal authorities in the nation would disagree with him as well.

Texas Sen. Ted Cruz said: "Bob Mueller is a good and honorable man, but I certainly hope that the appointment of a special counsel doesn't turn into a fishing expedition". So far, he said, Mueller had done nothing to warrant removal.

KEITH: In that same interview, Trump said that the Russian Federation investigation had been on his mind when he made a decision to fire Comey.

Coats met behind closed doors for more than three hours Thursday with the Senate intelligence committee, which is conducting a separate investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election. Trump said last week he felt vindicated by Comey's June 8 testimony that he was not the subject of investigation while Comey headed the agency.

Trump allies have been questioning whether Mueller can lead an unbiased probe, given that some members of his team have made campaign contributions to Democratic candidates. Mar-a-Lago generated $37 million during the reporting period.
