Trump Appears to Confirm He Is Under Federal Investigation

The focus on Rosenstein sharpened Friday because the President attacked the deputy attorney general in a tweet, blaming him for what he terms a "witch hunt".
Trump's tweet could be targeting Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein, who appointed former Federal Bureau of Investigation director Robert Mueller as special counsel to oversee the probe into Russia's intervention into the last year's presidential polls. She was appointed to the Privacy and Civil Liberties Oversight board in 2012 by President Obama, then appointed to the associate attorney general position by Trump.
The news comes as the Justice Department continues its investigation into Russian meddling in the 2016 election and the Trump administration's potential ties to Russia.
It was reported earlier this week that #Robert Mueller is investigating the USA president for obstruction of justice after he reportedly asked then-FBI director #James Comey to drop the investigation of Michael Flynn. Former FBI head Robert Mueller was appointed as special counsel a day after a report stemming from the notes was published.
In this last tweet, Trump was referring to a memo written by Rosenstein that was intensely critical of Comey and implicitly recommended his removal.
After meeting with Trump and Attorney General Jeff Sessions ahead of Comey's outster, Rosenstein wrote a letter dinging Comey for his handling of the Hillary Clintonemail investigation. Trump has also told friends and others that a "witch hunt" is being conducted against him.
The White House confirmed Mr Mueller was among the candidates the president interviewed to replace Mr Comey.
His aides try to change the subject when the president brings up Russian Federation, and aides have tried to reassure him the probe will clear him of wrongdoing - but he remains obsessed by what he believes is unfair treatment.
The memo identifies several Trump officials and advisers whose records are of particular interest in the probe.
"Why is that Hillary Clintons family and Dems dealings with Russian Federation are not looked at, but my non-dealings are?" he asked at one point. In yet another tweet, the president insisted that no one has found any "proof" that he colluded with Russians to meddle with the 2016 presidential elections.
