Trump tweets his frustration with Russia investigation
Trump's fledgling presidency has been battered by allegations - being dissected both by Congress and the Federal Bureau of Investigation - that Russian Federation interfered to sway the 2016 election in his favor, in possible collusion with the former real estate magnate's campaign team.
In a two-part tweetposted before 7 a.m., Trump wrote: "The MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN agenda is doing very well despite the distraction of the Witch Hunt".
During a less-than-effective attempt to explain his legal theory for why Trump would have a right to be upset should the Department of Justice investigate him for following their advice to fire Comey, Sekulow seemed to admit that the president was, in fact, under investigation.
On "Face The Nation" on CBS, Sekulow clarified that he's so confident that there isn't any investigation into the president because they have not received any notification from the special counsel's office.
And I said yesterday, you get two more leaks like this, Rosenstein is going to have to appoint a special counsel to investigate the special counsel. Trump later fired Comey.
"The timing of the thaw, however, has provoked accusations that the president is trying to ingratiate himself with a key member of a congressional panel investigating potential ties between Trump associates and Russian Federation".
The response comes after the Wall Street Journal reported on a May 15 Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request they submitted to the Secret Service.
The lawyer retorted that Wallace placed words in his mouth when he was crystal clear Trump is not and has not been under investigation.
Barr also called the obstruction investigation "asinine" and warned that the special counsel risks "taking on the look of an entirely political operation to overthrow the president".
Trump has in recent days expressed frustration with Rosenstein, who has the authority to fire Mueller.
A United States official who is familiar with the rough outlines of the probe and who spoke on condition of anonymity toldReuters on Thursday that Mueller was also examining whether Trump or others tried to interfere with the investigation. "Witch Hunt!" Trump tweeted. I mean I want you to think about the context upon which this would take place.
Sekulow cited congressional testimony by fired FBI director James B. Comey that he had told Trump on several occasions that Trump was not personally under investigations. "I don't think that tweet helped him", Gingrich said of the remark suggesting that Trump was being investigated.
"I don't have any reason to doubt the credibility of Bob Mueller to conduct this [investigation]", Rubio said. "And the best thing that can happen for everybody, the president, the country, our institutions [of] the government, is for a full and thorough and credible investigation that reveals everything".
The Secret Service has said it has no records of any recording systems or transcripts of any conversations Mr. Trump may have had in the White House.
"This is going to move forward".
"Rosenstein needs to stay on to protect the integrity of the investigation", said Robert Ray, the former independent counsel for the Whitewater case.
Brooks Koepka wins US Open, Fowler finishes 6 shots behind
Thomas was in the final group with Brian Harman , the third-round leader, and they did not tee off until almost 3 p.m. local time. Opens, on different courses in a different era, told the new victor , "You don't know it, but your life has changed overnight".
Brooks Koepka US Open champion at Erin Hills
Brooks Koepka shot a 5-under 67 to finish at 16-under 272 and match Rory McIlroy's tournament record for most shots under par. A solid approach on the par-4 11th allowed him to roll in for birdie and he repeated that on the 12th to go 4-under.
Yankeemetrics: Dingers, runs, wins, oh my! (June 9-11)
He is shockingly athletic for 6-foot-7, with a smart quickness on the bases and good range and ability playing right field. Tanaka gave up three home runs in five innings Tuesday night during a 5-4 loss to Boston, his fifth consecutive defeat.
Portugal held by Mexico at Confed Cup
The team from CONCACAF had enjoyed nearly 70 percent of possession against the European champions, but hadn't threatened the goal. If the game was a test of those factors, Mexico passed. "We nearly had the game won but we suffered in the final minutes".
Mueller Has 'Not Yet' Decided to Investigate Trump
Trump got rid of Comey, in May to hamper an inquiry into his sacked national security adviser, Michael Flynn. If Trump would seriously consider firing Sessions, it stands to reason that he would dispose of Comey.
Brooks Koepka wins US Open title after record week
Koepka then frittered a golden chance to regain the lead on the 11th, but was unable to convert a nervy nine-foot putt for birdie. Given the list of illustrious names who could not survive past 36 holes here, special credit is due to Scottie Scheffler.
