Champions Trophy 2017: Pakistan skipper Sarfraz Ahmed thrilled with emphatic turnaround

India captain Virat Kohli said the pressure created by Pakistan's bowlers proved too much for his title-holders to handle in a stunning 180-run Champions Trophy final defeat at The Oval.

The Pakistan victory was a given once India let them post 338 for four in their quota of 50 overs.

He broke the back of the Indian batting line-up before Hasan Ali and Shadab Khan wrecked the middle-order.

Sarfraz Ahmed had previously captained Pakistan to Under-19 World Cup 2006 triumph.

Hasan Ali picked up the award for man of the tournament with his 13 wickets, including three in India's collapse, and the victory was cathartic for Amir in particular after he spent five years banned from the sport for his role in the 2010 spot-fixing scandal at Lord's.

Widely written off after an abject display in their opening group match against the same opponents, the lowest-ranked team going into the tournament suddenly rediscovered their mojo.

The openers, who also managed a 100-run stand for the first wicket in the previous matches, was separated due to a suicidal run-out of Ali when Zaman was ball-watching and Ali departed with the score on 128 for one after 23 overs.

India, on the other hand, who played to their potential throughout the tournament, were struggling against the disciplined Pakistani batting lineup and failed to utilise the conditions completely.

The last few overs saw Hafeez thrashing Indian bowlers all around the park.
