Pakistan stun defending champions India to win Champions Trophy

June 18 will go down the Pakistan cricket history as the day they won their maiden ICC Champions Trophy.

Revelation and redemption helped Pakistan turn world cricket's order upside down as Fakhar Zaman's maiden one-day worldwide century and Mohammad Amir's brilliant new-ball spell underpinned a landslide 180-run win over India in the Champions Trophy final. Bhuvneshwar Kumar's 10 overs, one for 44, felt like a triumph for the lithe fast-medium on a run-soaked Oval pitch.

These numbers indicate their utter dominance in the two biggest games of the tournament, against two of the toughest opponents: they beat England by eight wickets with 77 balls to spare in the semi-finals, and thrashed India by 180 runs in the final.

Section 144 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC) of 1973 empowers a magistrate to prohibit an assembly of more than four people in an area.

Pakistan's thrilling victory over their biggest rivals was set up by Fakhar Zaman's century and a three-wicket burst from opening bowler Mohammad Amir.

All-rounder Hardik Pandya was the highest scorer among the Indians with 76 runs from 43 balls.

Spinner Shadab Khan snared Yuvraj Singh lbw for 22 and Dhoni, India's former captain who has saved the team on many occasions, pulled Hasan Ali to Imad Wasim at deep square leg to depart for four.

India was the lopsided 4-9 favorite by English bookmakers to win a record third Trophy in a record fourth final, but Pakistan blew away all predictions and expectations with a win of stunning ease. After he was gone at 152, India managed only six more runs and survived for only 24 more balls.

Captain Kohli will also look to use off-break spinner Kedar Jadhav - who took two vital wickets in his previous match against Bangladesh - alongside Hardik Pandya to deceive the Pakistan batsmen.

India were below par with the ball with the duo of Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja remaining wicketless in their spells. Azhar Ali spilled a regulation chance of Indian captain Virat Kohli in the slips but Amir scalped him off his very next delivery. "But he was run out in a bad mix-up", said Kohli, who scored five before becoming the second victim of a fired-up Mohammad Amir.

India started poorly with Rohit Sharma out on a duck. The opener, who was playing his first game against India didn't let the nerves get to him as he attacked the Indian bowling with some swagger.

Amir took out all three of India's premier batsmen, bowled a maiden for figures of 6-2-16-3, then watched as his teammates mopped up.

After man of the match Fakhar finished on 114, Pakistan pace bowler Mohammad Amir ripped the heart out of the India batting line-up with the wickets of Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan and Virat Kohli.

Fakhar cashed in on a major let-off when he was caught behind off a Jasprit Bumrah front-foot no-ball with just three to his name, the opener punishing India by hitting three sixes and 12 fours off 106 balls. Kohli, electing to field, would have expected a better show from his bowlers. I got to one final with Pakistan and eventually got a medal. Only this time, he made a decision to field two spinners - Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja.
