Warriors fans celebrate NBA title with rowdy street party

Sweet redemption: Warriors become first Bay Area team to win title at home since 1974

The Inglewood City Council unanimously approved an exclusive negotiating agreement with the Los Angeles Clippers on Thursday that could lead to the construction of an arena for the National Basketball Association team across the street from the future home of the NFL's Chargers and Rams.

However, not every statistical ranking is as kind to the 2017 Warriors.

Golden State has long seemed intent on owning their superiority, so let's get on with it, shall we?

They went 15-1 in the postseason, with sweeps in the first three rounds before beating LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers in five games in the finals. "You feel me?" Rapper E-40 said.

"We just won the championship and I guarantee that wasn't on anyone's mind", Durant said.

"Somebody asked me about it a couple months ago, a hypothetical, if a championship were to happen: 'What would I do?'" Curry said.

After the final buzzer sounded, Curry celebrated the team's latest championship with his teammates before reuniting with his family and enjoying the moment with his adorable daughters, 4-year-old Riley and 1-year-old Ryan.

So in a season where we knew the end result before it happened, it was still a very fun year.

Stephen Curry has been the most underpaid player in the league ever since 2012, when he signed a four-year, $44 million contract. Critics have called the Warriors a super team with the addition of Kevin Durant previous year. Hayward and Gobert both emerged as new stars this year, with Gobert making the NBA All-Second Team and Hayward averaging 21.9 points for the regular season. "The backstory to this is, after Game 7 last year, I told one of my close friends to save this for a year from now", Curry said.

Presidents have hosted world champion sports teams for decades, but the tradition has become a hot-button topic for athletes in recent years.

Curry had Durant to complement his game this time, to take some pressure off.

"Steph definitely took a back seat to start the season until he realized we didn't need him to take a back seat, we need you to be aggressive as you're going to be", forward Draymond Green said. After all, I don't think any of us expected him to step out and say, "You guys were right, that WAS easy!".
